From IIT Delhi to Miss Uttar Pradesh Runner-Up: Anshika Gupta’s Extraordinary Journey
Some dreams begin quietly in childhood and wait patiently for the right moment to bloom. For Anshika Gupta, that dream was born when she was just two years old, watching television as iconic beauty queens Aishwarya Rai and Sushmita Sen were crowned before the world. The sparkle of those moments stayed with her, planting a vision deep within her heart — a vision that refused to fade despite life’s harshest storms.
Growing up, Anshika balanced her fascination for the world of pageantry with academics. But life changed completely when she lost her father at the age of sixteen. Overnight, responsibilities replaced childhood aspirations. As the eldest child in the family, she chose duty over dreams, standing strong for her mother and younger brother during one of the most difficult phases of their lives.

Determined to build stability for her family, Anshika pursued Mechanical Engineering — a field where women are still often questioned and underestimated. Entering a male-dominated industry brought constant challenges. Society repeatedly reminded her that “mechanical is not for girls,” but she refused to let stereotypes define her path.
Her professional journey was filled with struggle, persistence, and hard-earned growth. She worked in production roles, later secured an opportunity at IIT Delhi as a Project Associate among thousands of candidates, gained experience in startups, and eventually established herself as a Mechanical Design Engineer. Alongside her studies and work, she also gave tuition classes to support her family financially.
Yet life tested her again.
In 2020, Anshika was diagnosed with a severe spine disease that infected the bones in her spine. For nearly three years, she battled unbearable pain that made even sitting, walking, or sleeping difficult. The illness slowed her physically, but mentally she remained determined to survive and rise again.
After recovering and gradually rebuilding her life, Anshika finally looked back at the dream she had placed on hold for years. This time, she decided to give herself a chance.
That decision changed everything.
She auditioned for Forever Star India and was selected. Soon after, she earned the title of Miss Kanpur Nagar 2025, followed by the remarkable achievement of becoming Miss Uttar Pradesh 1st Runner-Up at the grand finale held in Jaipur. Standing on stage with a crown on her head was more than a victory — it was proof that dreams delayed are not dreams denied.
Beyond pageantry, Anshika has consistently showcased her talent across multiple fields. She secured first prize in an inter-university debate competition, achieved top positions in dance, singing, and painting competitions, and earned recognition in rangoli-making and creative competitions. Her journey reflects not only determination but also versatility and courage.
What makes Anshika’s story truly powerful is her refusal to surrender to circumstances. Losing a father at a young age, carrying family responsibilities, facing financial hardships, surviving illness, and fighting societal judgment could have easily broken her spirit. Instead, she transformed every obstacle into motivation.
Today, her aspirations reach even higher. She dreams of representing India on bigger platforms such as Miss India, Miss World, or Miss Universe. But her ambitions are not limited to personal success alone. Anshika also hopes to build a support system for children facing hardships like the ones she experienced, helping them pursue education and achieve their dreams without suffering in silence.
Her story is not simply about crowns or titles. It is about courage, responsibility, sacrifice, and the strength to rise every single time life tries to pull you down.
Because sometimes, the most beautiful victories come from the toughest battles.
