Captain Poonam Kaur: The Soldier Who Found Her Calling in Healing
She once wore the uniform of a military officer, trained to stand strong in the face of uncertainty. Today, she sits with people carrying invisible battles-their trauma, grief, fears and emotional wounds. Somewhere between the discipline of the armed forces and the vulnerability of human emotions, Captain Poonam Kaur discovered a purpose that would redefine her life.
Her own life had not been easy. She had faced challenges that tested her strength and shaped the person she would eventually become. But what followed was something she never consciously planned. People carrying their own struggles began finding their way to her. They came with pain, confusion and problems, and often left with clarity, strength and solutions.

It was then that Captain Poonam began to recognise something within herself: her ability to transform pain into perspective and emotional struggles into possibilities could become her profession-and her purpose.
That realisation eventually led her to establish “Sky Is To Fly: School of Quantum Healing,” a platform born from her desire to help people heal, grow and move towards more fulfilling lives.
When Strength Was Forged Through Challenges
Captain Poonam describes her life as challenging. Yet, overcoming those experiences became the foundation of the strength she would later use to support others.
Even after working through her own struggles, she noticed that people naturally turned to her during their difficult moments. Their stories, sadness and uncertainties stayed with her. Her empathy made her deeply receptive to what others were feeling.
But this gift came with its own challenge.
As an empathetic person, she would often absorb other people’s sadness. Their emotions could remain with her for days or even weeks.
Eventually, she realised that helping someone did not mean carrying their pain as her own.
She began learning the importance of healthy emotional boundaries—how to understand another person's emotions without becoming consumed by them, and how to offer support without emotional attachment.
That lesson transformed her approach to healing.
From the Battlefield to the Human Mind
Before becoming a life coach, healer and author, Captain Poonam served as a military officer.
The military gave her an understanding of discipline, responsibility and inner strength. But her journey beyond the uniform opened another dimension of learning—the study of life itself.
Through her experiences, she developed a deeper curiosity about life, death and human behaviour. She began observing not just what people did, but why they behaved the way they did, how experiences shaped them and how emotional wounds influenced their lives.
Those observations eventually inspired another important chapter: writing.
When Experiences Became Words
Captain Poonam’s first book, “Stardust and Sorrow,” was published this year.
The book went on to receive the prestigious “21st Century Emily Dickinson Award,” marking an important achievement in her literary journey.
For her, writing became another way of exploring the human experience. The emotions she had encountered throughout her life, the lessons she had gathered and her observations of human behaviour found a new expression through literature.
From wearing the military uniform to holding a pen, Captain Poonam continued to explore different dimensions of human strength.
A Journey Across Many Roles
Captain Poonam Kaur’s identity extends far beyond a single profession.
She is a retired Army officer, award-winning published author, transformation life coach and healer. Her journey has also taken her into the media and entertainment industry as a news anchor and television actor.
She has shared her experiences and perspectives as a Josh Talks speaker and has also been featured in the international Lifestyle magazine.
Each role represents a different chapter of her life, but there is a common thread running through them all: communication, human connection and the desire to create an impact.
Turning Personal Lessons Into Purpose
Today, Captain Poonam’s larger mission is centred on helping people heal from their traumas and move towards happier and more fulfilling lives.
Her journey offers a powerful reminder that the experiences that shape us do not have to define our limitations. They can also become the source of our deepest understanding.
The soldier taught her strength. Life taught her empathy. Writing gave her a voice. And healing gave that voice a purpose.
Captain Poonam Kaur continues to bring these worlds together-using the discipline of her past, the wisdom of her experiences and the power of her words to help others discover their own strength.
Because sometimes, the person who has fought the hardest battles becomes the one who knows best how to help others find their way back to themselves.
