Long before astrology became her profession, it was already a quiet presence in Dr. Meghana Upadhye’s life. In 2010, Dr. Meghana made a defining decision—to pursue astrology professionally. She immersed herself in formal studies, eventually earning a PhD in Vedic Astrology and gaining expertise in KP Jyotish, Vastu, Numerology, Gemstone Consultancy, and Face Reading. What began as a childhood fascination evolved into a meaningful mission: helping individuals and families find balance, clarity, and direction in their lives.
Yet, her journey was far from linear. Trained as a structural engineer and working as a professor at an engineering college, Meghana was balancing two very different worlds. Life took a demanding turn after marriage and the birth of her children. With her husband serving as a chief engineer in the merchant navy and spending long stretches at sea, the responsibility of managing home, children, and career often rested solely on her shoulders. Eventually, she made the difficult decision to step away from her full-time academic role.
There were phases when pursuing her passion felt almost impossible. Even when she returned to astrology after a long break, rebuilding confidence and carving out opportunities required immense courage and persistence. Pursuing higher education—including her PhD—while raising two young children tested her limits. Exhaustion, self-doubt, and emotional overwhelm were frequent companions, but so was her refusal to give up. Discipline, faith, and unwavering family support carried her through those demanding years.
Every challenge became a quiet teacher. Late-night study sessions, continuous learning, and an unshakeable belief in the power of knowledge transformed obstacles into stepping stones. Today, when Dr. Meghana guides others through astrology and Vastu, she does so with empathy born from lived experience—drawing strength from the very struggles that shaped her resilience.
Building a career in astrology and Vastu brought its own unique challenges. One of the biggest has been navigating misconceptions. Some approach these sciences with blind faith, others with complete skepticism. For Dr. Meghana, the path lay in balance—bridging ancient wisdom with scientific reasoning, clarity, and ethical practice. Gaining trust takes time, especially in a field where results are subtle and deeply connected to individual effort and karma. Astrology, she believes, demands lifelong learning. Every chart is different, every space unique. Staying updated across Vedic astrology, KP systems, numerology, and Vastu requires constant study and reflection. In Vastu, working within modern structural limitations without demolition challenges both creativity and expertise. Her journey has been recognised with several prestigious honours. From securing 2nd Rank in Structural Engineering at Karnataka University to receiving a Gold Medal for her PhD in Vedic Astrology along with the Maharshi Gaurav Samman, her achievements reflect both academic excellence and spiritual depth. Her doctoral thesis received global recognition from IAMA University, Florida, USA. She has been honoured with the City Excellence Awards 2024 – Mumbai, named Most Inspiring Woman Astrologer – Visionary Woman Awards, and Most Iconic Astrologer, Numerologist & Vastu Expert by The Success Today Group. She is also featured among “Top 10 Astrologers to Follow in 2025” by Mid Day Mumbai.
Looking ahead, Dr. Meghana envisions expanding Ishanya Astrovastu into a trusted holistic guidance platform—where astrology, Vastu, numerology, and energy sciences come together seamlessly. She plans to launch structured online and offline courses to mentor aspiring practitioners, publish books based on real-life case studies, and make these ancient sciences accessible to the modern generation. Collaborations with architects and interior designers are also part of her future roadmap, integrating Vastu thoughtfully into contemporary living spaces. Ultimately, her goal is simple yet profound: to reach more lives, bring harmony to more homes, and continue evolving—as a researcher, teacher, and compassionate guide—while staying true to the stars that first called her home.
