The Inspiring Journey of Raj Deepa More: From Badlapur to Marathi Television
In a peaceful corner of Badlapur, not too far from the restless heartbeat of Mumbai, lived a little boy who didn’t grow up with the comfort of a complete family. While other children clung to their fathers’ shoulders, he held tightly only to the hand of his mother — the woman who chose strength over sorrow, and who refused to give up on life or on him.
There were days when the world seemed too big for just the two of them, but she stood tall. She became both the shelter and the sunshine, teaching her son that love doesn’t need numbers — it needs courage.

“It was always just my mother and me,” says Raj Deepa More, with a softness in his voice that carries both gratitude and memory. Today, his journey through the Marathi entertainment industry reads like a script written by destiny — woven with perseverance, passion, and unwavering faith.
When his father walked away, life changed overnight. His mother — a school teacher — became both parent and protector, the foundation and the fire of his world. While she worked, little Raj spent long hours alone at home. With no voices to talk to, the television became his companion. He didn’t just watch characters — he became them. He repeated dialogues, copied emotions, and unknowingly found a doorway into acting.
“I never planned to become an actor… it just happened. Maybe it was God’s plan,” he says with a soft smile.
That plan took shape in 2018 when he first walked into an audition room. Two years later, in 2020, his real acting journey began. In 2021, he landed his first project — a short film — and from there, the wings of his career opened wide. Viewers began to recognize him on television, in brand advertisements, and in episodes of the nation’s favorite crime shows — Crime Patrol and Savdhaan India. Soon after, came his first big digital break on Amazon.
One after another, doors started opening — and Marathi television embraced him wholeheartedly. Raj went on to shine in shows like:
Tu Tevha Tashi
Man Udu Udu Zhala
Tujhech Mi Geet Gaat Aahe
Tu Chal Pudhe
After Tu Chal Pudhe, something unexpected happened — the channel chose him. He didn’t audition; he was directly offered the role in Navari Mile Hitlerla. The show ended early, but destiny still stood by him. The channel reassured him that his talent deserved bigger space — and today, Raj is proudly performing in his sixth show — “Veen Doghantli Hi Tutena.”
For him, Marathi acting isn’t just a profession — it’s an emotion. His mother tongue flows into his performance naturally, becoming the connection audiences feel instantly.
But success never arrived on a silver platter. It arrived in the form of 4 a.m. alarms, crowded trains, long queues, and years of rejection.
Every day, he woke up before sunrise, traveling more than 2 hours from Badlapur to Andheri, moving from one production house to another — audition after audition, hope after hope. Sometimes he returned home empty-handed, with only exhaustion and belief in his heart.
“I don’t call it hardship… it’s a part of my journey,” he says proudly. Every character he has played came through auditions — nothing ever came easy.
Behind the scenes, there is another love — cricket. Before acting took over, Raj played the sport professionally. Even today, when life becomes overwhelming, he returns to the ground… or to the warm presence of his mother.
“Both acting and cricket make me forget all my problems,” he says.
Through every high and low, his mother never allowed the world’s doubts to dim her belief. When people told her that auditions would lead nowhere, she stood stronger. She taught him the lesson that shaped his life:
💬 “If we work hard, we can achieve anything.”
And Raj has lived every moment honoring that message.
His proudest milestones are not trophies — but personal victories of love:
Buying a phone for his mother with his very first salary
The day strangers surrounded him for selfies, making him realise his work mattered
Buying his first bike
Later, upgrading to a car — only because his mother wasn’t comfortable traveling on a bike
Now, his next milestone is to buy their own house in Mumbai — a dream he is working tirelessly toward.
But Raj sees his future beyond the camera too. He dreams of launching his own production company, to create films and shows with purpose — stories that heal, uplift, and inspire.
And to young people growing up without a father, he offers a message straight from his heart:
💬 “Not having a father doesn’t mean you can’t achieve anything. Our mothers give us more than the world ever sees. Whatever I am today is because of my mother.”
As he wraps up his story, he leaves behind a mantra for life — a philosophy that led him from solitude to stardom:
“There is nothing greater than hard work. Love what you do, stay kind, never hurt anyone, speak the truth, and stay real.”
