The Many Chapters of Sneha Sengupta: Journalist, Author & Beauty Queen

For Sneha Sengupta, storytelling has never been limited to a newsroom desk or a television screen. It has been a way of understanding people, culture, ambition, and transformation. Over the last fifteen years, she has built a remarkable journey that stretches from national newsrooms to international red carpets, from cultural journalism to the pageant stage, proving that reinvention is always possible for those willing to chase their dreams with conviction.

Today, Sneha stands proudly as the reigning Mrs. India Pride of East 2026, a journalist, cultural correspondent, leader, writer, and a woman determined to inspire others through every chapter of her life.

Armed with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Comparative Literature from Jadavpur University, Sneha stepped into journalism while still pursuing her postgraduate studies. Her career began at Anandabazar Patrika as a Trainee Journalist, where her dedication and sharp editorial instincts soon earned her the position of Sub-Editor. She later moved to ETV Hyderabad, spending nearly four years as a Team Coordinator specializing in feature writing and human-interest stories.

Returning to Kolkata marked the beginning of another exciting phase. Sneha immersed herself in entertainment and cultural journalism, covering everything from Bengal’s rich Jatra heritage to globally celebrated platforms like the Cannes International Film Festival. Her work and leadership abilities led her to prestigious editorial positions at TV9 and Ei Samay, where she served as Principal Correspondent and Department Head, leading teams in some of the country’s most dynamic newsrooms.

Throughout her career, Sneha has consistently turned impossibilities into achievements. One of her most memorable milestones came when she secured an exclusive one-on-one interview with astronaut Sunita Williams — something many believed could not be done. Refusing to accept defeat, Sneha spent three relentless days following every opportunity, eventually running through crowds with her shoes in her hands just to get noticed. Her determination paid off, and the interview became a defining moment in her career.

Her persistence shone once again when she covered the Cannes International Film Festival in 2025 as a journalist from India. Despite being told that obtaining a visa in time would be nearly impossible, she refused to give up and continued her efforts until success finally arrived.

Yet behind the professional accomplishments stood another deeply personal story.

A few years ago, Sneha faced a difficult crossroads between career growth and personal life. Choosing family and motherhood became one of the most meaningful decisions she ever made. Becoming a mother transformed her emotionally, but it also brought physical and mental challenges. Struggling with post-pregnancy weight gain and self-doubt, she found herself searching for confidence once again.

That search led her to another powerful turning point — participating in Mrs. India Queen of Substance 2026. Determined to rediscover herself, Sneha committed fully to her transformation journey. She lost 15 kilos, rebuilt her confidence, and learned once again how to carry herself with pride, grace, and strength. Her efforts earned her the crown of Mrs. India Pride of East 2026, a title that represented far more than beauty or glamour.

For Sneha, pageantry became a statement against stereotypes. She believes it is not merely about appearances or walking a ramp, but about rediscovering identity, confidence, and purpose. Through her journey, she hopes to show women — especially mothers — that life does not pause after marriage or motherhood; sometimes, it is only the beginning.

As someone who has interviewed celebrated personalities from the cultural world, covered international events, and led editorial teams, Sneha continues to carry her optimism into every new challenge. She believes confidence comes from self-acceptance and that the strongest voice anyone can listen to is their own.

Now stepping into a new creative phase, Sneha is writing her very first novel, bringing her years of observing human emotions and experiences into literature. She also dreams of bridging the worlds of art and education through acting, teaching, writing, and motivational speaking.

Whether she is reporting from a newsroom, standing beneath the lights of a pageant stage, or writing stories that touch lives, Sneha Sengupta continues to prove one thing — determination, courage, and self-belief can transform every obstacle into a new beginning.
